Enhance your Immune function with Qigong
In this class we will use Movement, Breath, Mediation and Self-Applied Massage to relax the mind and body, break up stagnation and facilitate the movement of Qi through the body to strengthen our immune systems.
The immune system is the first line of defense against alien microorganisms entering the body. While we all are susceptible to getting sick, if you have a strong immune system, you will have less chance of you falling ill. And, if you do get sick, you will likely have a milder illness and quicker recovery.
Stress suppresses the immune system making us more susceptible to infections. By initiating the relaxation response, Qigong is proven to reduce the effects of stress and activate natural healing mechanisms. There is evidence that Qigong practice strengthens the immune system and lowers the incidence of upper respiratory infections such as colds and flu.
